If you find one, that picture implies you might try and take him apart rather than giving him a good feel...

Newer stuff I’ve seen isn’t worth owning. My wrench like that is at least 30 years old.

I thought it was just the 10 mm sockets that pull that disappearing act BS. Now you’re telling me I should stock up on the combination wrenches too?! Goddammit.

SK is my preferred brand of quality hand tools for sure. Most of what I have of theirs is older than I am.

The first 10mm flare nut wrench I bought was some generic brand from Napa and it was a POS. The SK is actually the size printed on the handle and it doesn’t deflect when you give it some grunt.

You are a rich man. Those are good as gold in the cycling world.

E ven with one of them anchored into hardened concrete I would’ve needed the back wheel resting on the ground to provide enough resistance for what I’ve just endured. Hard to put into words how much better it rides after 12 hours bringing it partway back up to acceptable standards and installing a new crank.

Until you have removed a crank with a saws- all you haven’t lived.

i was introduced to the flare nut wrench when i was a teenager, my friend’s dad found out i needed to change a power steering hose but i couldn’t get the old one off, he had a 3/8 flare nut crow’s foot, he put it on a 24" ex tension and breakover and twisted that thing 90  degrees and i thought i was going to have to buy him another one then pow! his tools were none the worse and i was amazed
